Online auction to benefit Michelle Eustis’ daughter is launched

Crete, IL — Rod Allums, Jr., a driver at Balmoral Park and Maywood Park, has launched an online auction on eBay.com to benefit an educational fund for Michelle Eustis’ 7-year-old daughter Haylee Kofoid. Michelle was killed on April 11 in an accident at Balmoral Park.

Items being auctioned include sporting tickets (Bulls playoffs, Cubs, White Sox, etc.), an autographed baseball by White Sox legend Ron Kittle, autographed racing colors, and horse racing equipment such as a brand new jog cart. All proceeds will be directed to the “Michelle Eustis/Haylee Kofoid Benefit Fund” at First Community Bank and Trust in Beecher, Ill.

Anyone wishing to donate directly to the fund can do so by check made payable to the “Michelle Eustis/Haylee Kofoid Benefit Fund” mailed to P.O. Box 457, Beecher, IL 60401 or dropped off at the Peotone or Beecher location.

Michelle worked with her father Chuck Eustis as a trainer for a variety of horses, including St Elmo Hero who recently won 25 straight races across North America.
