Open House at SRF

by Gen Sullivan, for the Standardbred Retirement Foundation

Hamilton, NJ — The Standardbred Retirement Foundation (SRF) is celebrating our first anniversary at our Hamilton, New Jersey boarding facility and we want you to be a part of it.

For more than 18 years, the SRF has been the treasured friend and lifelong guardian of Standardbreds in need. The Foundation has found homes for thousands of needy horses and helped hundreds of children through its youth programs, all without a permanent location.

On October 26 the Foundation invites all of our members and supporters to come out and see what they have helped make possible. The farm comes complete with office space, a large barn with 10 stalls, spacious indoor and outdoor arenas and nearly 30 acres of pasture.

“We are currently helping 160 horses,” said SRF President Paula Campbell. “That number is an all-time high. As more people worry about the economy, more and more horses need our help. We get calls every single day from people who want SRF to take their horses and help find them permanent adoptive homes. Now, instead of paying board bills, we bring the most adoptable horses to the farm and work even more closely with adopters to find them homes. Our Youth Programs are benefiting as well. We are excited to continue our mission to care for the horses and kids who depend on us.”

Everyone is invited to the SRF Open House at 108F Old York Rd., just outside the village of Crosswicks, New Jersey, on Sunday, October 26 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. The Open House will include a chance to meet SRF horses, board members, staff and volunteers. There will also be displays of Standardbred versatility under saddle, carriage rides and fun for the whole family.

To become a sponsor, make a gift or for more information contact Gen Sullivan at (609) 324-1500 or Gen@srfmail.com. SRF is a 501 (C) 3 nonprofit organization. Gifts to SRF are tax deductible.
