Granville, OH — Ohio Standardbreds & Friends will host an Open Hunter Pace on Sunday (June 7) at Infirmary Mound Park, Licking Park District, 4309 Lancaster Road, Granville, Ohio.

This event is open to all riders, Western, English, Gaited, Sidesaddle etc. and all breeds of horses. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m.

There are three divisions for riders — Hang on Sloopy! with a desired pace of 10 mph; That’s The Way We Like It! with a desired pace of eight mph and It’s 5 O’Clock Somewhere! with a desired pace of four mph.

Teams can consist of one to three riders. Riders follow a flagged cross-country course with the goal to complete the course in as close to the ideal time as possible. Riders may choose to jump the jumps and obstacles or can go around them. No watches or measuring devices of any kind are allowed. Riders can choose to do a second run and can change divisions. Course distance will be announced when the awards are presented to those teams coming closest to the desired time in each division. All riders will receive medals. Helmets are mandatory for all riders.

Proceeds from the Hunter Pace will be used to purchase trophies for the 2015 World Standardbred Horse Show. If you would like to sponsor a jump in your name(s) or your stable name, it will be placed on the jump.
