Campbellville, ON — Fresh off Sunday night’s (August 22) victory in the C$161,250 Frank Ryan Memorial Trot at Rideau Carleton Raceway with Slave Dream, trainer Frank O’Reilly couldn’t be any happier. O’Reilly is a native of Wolf Lake, Ontario which makes Rideau Carleton Raceway O’Reilly’s home track growing up.

Slave Dream now has seasonal earnings of $333,208 in just seven starts thanks to a victory in the $300,000 Nat Ray at the Meadowlands despite being gapped off eight lengths at the start of the race.

To be able to win an event like the Frank Ryan Memorial Trot was very sentimental for O’Reilly as many of his family and friends were in attendance.

“My family was there and it was a real sentimental victory, it felt fantastic. It was like winning the Stanley Cup at home,” O’Reilly told WEG’s media department.

O’Reilly also discusses how he plans on managing Slave Dream over the remainder of the year in preparation for next season.

The son of Pearsall Hanover has $682,199 lifetime for owners Franco Cianci and Isidoro Russo.
