OSAS stallion auction starts Saturday

Campbellville, ON — The Ontario Standardbred Adoption Society’s sixth annual stallion auction, which will feature breedings to seven of North America’s premier stallions, begins Saturday, March 1.

“We are very pleased with the stallion donations for 2008,” said program co-ordinator Dianne Denby, who mentioned that stallion donations that went toward the recent Jack Kopas Fundraiser will be a big boost for OSAS.

“The stallion auction is one of several fundraisers planned for OSAS in 2008,” said Denby. “The others include the Steve Condren Golf Tournament slated for July and the annual Horse Show planned for September.”

Place your bid online beginning Saturday, March 1, at helpingourhorses.ca.

Bidding closes at 6:00 p.m. (EST) on Wednesday, March 11, 2008.

The stallions available for the sixth annual auction include:

Here Comes Herbie ($5,000)
Southfork ($2,500)
Cadillac Hall ($2,000)
Stonebridge Regal ($4,000)
Pegasus Spur ($4,000)
Matt’s Scooter – (undisclosed amount)
Camotion ($3,000) six breedings available
Oaklea Julian ($3,500)

A registered, non-profit charity with a mandate aimed at dignifying a Standardbred’s post-race life, OSAS has adopted over 350 horses to date, with 40 successful adoptions in 2007.
