PA Stallion Series adds consolation races

by Gerry Connors, for the PA Harness Racing Commission

Harrisburg, PA — The Stallion Series, a PA-sired stakes series for 2-year-olds that has proven very popular in its first year during 2009, has added $20,000 consolations per division on the night of its $40,000 divisional championships, Monday, Sept. 28, at The Meadows.

The championships will include the top eight point winners in Stallion Series preliminary competition; the consolations will be comprised of the next eight point winners declaring in. Ties in points are broken by money won in the series.

The following night, Tuesday, Sept. 29, the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes 2-year-old championships, worth $200,000 each, will be raced at The Meadows, along with their $50,000 consolations.

For more information on all these races, please contact the racing office at The Meadows at 724.225.9300. Up-to-date point standings can be had from the PA Racing Commissions at 717.787.5539.
