Pacific Illusion captures White Ruffles Final

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – January 26, 2005 – Pacific Illusion, driven by John Campbell, followed the outside flow and moved five-wide in the stretch, getting up for a three-quarter-length victory in the $54,250 White Ruffles Final, the sixth race on Wednesday night at the Meadowlands.
Pacific Illusion [$28.00, $7.40, $4.40] paced the mile in a lifetime best of 1:54.1, edging out Wind Storm [$5.20, $4.40]. Bottom Dealer [$14.60] was third by two and a quarter lengths. Smashingpringipisa, the even money favorite, faded to fifth.
Campbell, who won the Super Bowl Final with Rumsfeld on Tuesday night, made it back-to-back Winter Series Finals with his fifth White Ruffles victory. The mare is trained by Wayne Givens.
Pacific Illusion, a four-year-old daughter of Pacific Fella – Pacific Monet, posted her first victory in three starts this year, fourth in 18 career starts. She has a career bankroll of $50,173 for Vicki Givens of Seaford, Delaware; Sharon White of Smyrna, Delaware and Louie Paglierani of Ocean City, Maryland.
