Paint Nite fundraiser to benefit HHYF

Ocean City, MD — A Paint Nite fundraiser to be held in Ocean City, Md., will benefit the Harness Horse Youth Foundation.

On Monday (June 13) at 5 p.m. a Paint Nite event will be held at Waterman’s Seafood Company at 12505 Ocean Gateway, Ocean City, Md. Paint Nite will donate a portion of the proceeds from the event, which costs $45 a person, to the Harness Horse Youth Foundation. HHYF is a charitable 501(c)3 organization dedicated to providing children and their families with educational opportunities with harness horses.

“Getting the youth involved not only gets a future generation of owners, trainers and drivers to keep harness racing going, it gets the whole family involved,” said Carrie Stackowitz, whose son Declan participated in an HHYF camp. “I have seen these kids beg their parents to take them to the track for live racing.”

After seeing the way HHYF got her son interested in the sport — he’s now 16 and driving in qualifiers — she decided to do something to support the organization. In addition to Stackowitz and the Brian Malone Stable, sponsors for the event include Skinner Racing and Friends of Maryland Standardbreds.

To sign up for the June 13 event, go to this link or call Stackowitz at 410.202.6231.
