Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 6-9, Saturday, August 6, 2011

I have a profit of $129.40 on these Pick-4 plays so far this meet (coming into Friday’s card) and I’ve hit three Pick-4s. I’ll stick with the game plan which is to keep the cost down and play small tickets. Today’s sequence features some of the best horses in the sport. I don’t want to hit a $20 Pick-4 so I’m leaving two big favorites out.

$1 play: 126/145/1810/4 = $27

Analysis:

Race 6: There are four obvious contenders here but I’m using three of them to keep the cost down, (6) Won The West, (2) We Will See, and (1) Delmarvalous.

Race 7: (4) Arch Madness may be a good single but since he comes off a tiring effort I also used (1) Lucky Jim and (5) San Pail, not very original, these are the three best horses.

Race 8: I’m going to leave the heavy favorite (2) Crys Dream off my ticket. If she wins, the Pick-4 won’t pay much and I think that (10) Jezzy and (1) Iron Lady both have a good chance here; I’m also using (8) Wincinnatti, even though she needs some racing luck from post eight. I thought about leaving the eight off and cutting the cost to $18 but I have a profit so I’ll take a shot.

Race 9: (2) Manofmanymissions is another that many people will single. I’ll take a stand against him in the Pick-4 and single (4) Chapter Seven.
