Pantaleano, Pinkney Jr. capture titles at Freehold

Freehold, NJ — Jim Pantaleano won Freehold Raceway’s 2010-2011 driving title on Saturday completing the meet with 232 wins. The Cleveland, Ohio native had a career best 437 wins in 2010, surpassing identical 436 win marks in 2002 and 2003.

The presentation to leading driver Jim Pantaleano was made by Racing Sec. Karen Fagliarone and Freehold GM Howard Bruno.

Dave Pinkney Jr. captured the training crown with 56 wins. Dave left Nova Scotia, Canada when he was 22 years old to campaign in New England. He won his first driving and training title in the early 90’s. Soon thereafter he packed up his tack and moved to New Jersey and has been here ever since.

For the 52 year old trainer, this is his second straight training title at Freehold.

Freehold Raceway will remain open throughout the summer for afternoon and evening simulcasting with live racing returning September 1.
