Pappy has his day at Dover Downs

Dover, DE — Pappy came on in the stretch to score a 1:54.1 victory in the Sunday, Jan. 15 feature race at Dover Downs.
Driven by Vic Kirby, Pappy had just enough to beat Flippin Out (Jim Morand) in the final strides in the $16,500 4&5-Year-Old pace .Veteran Arty Foster and trainer Julianne Bobby own the 5-year-old Ft. Apache-Annie Up gelding. Bluehurst (Ross Wolfenden) was third.
Dragon Woman and Matt Kakaley overcame starting from post 8, following Magnetic Draw (Sean Bier) down the backstretch and then overtook her on the final turn on the way to a 1:55.3 score in a $14,500 4&5-Year-Old Mares pace. One Last Kiss (Tim Curtin) finished third.
Kakaley also guided Hay Beautiful to victory in 1:54.1 in an $11,000 4&5-Year-Old Mares pace for Baron Racing Stable and trainer Josh Green. Kiss This Rusty (Brad Hanners) and JK RU Nettor Yet (Roger Plante) were second and third respectively.
