Chester, PA — The best Pennsylvania bred 3-year-old pacers and trotters will be in action this Sunday (Sep. 3) at Harrah’s Philadelphia in the finals of their respective divisions. The total purses will be $252,000 for each event.
The 3-year-old filly trotting division final (race 11) figures to be a wide open affair. Morning-line favorite Fine Tuned Lady (Corey Callahan) won her most recent PASS event at The Meadows, holding off pocket-sitter The Erm (Matt Kakaley), who draws post eight today. Fine Tuned Lady is the leading money earner in the field, with over $558,000 to her credit. Every filly in the field has at least one PASS victory.
The 3-year-old colt and gelding trotting division (race 9) on the program features the dangerous duo of Dover Dan (Dave Miller) and Giveitgasandgo (Corey Callahan), both hailing from the John Butenschoen barn. Both made it to The Hambletonian final earlier this month, but have been victims of tough trips and illness as of late. Morning line favorite (5-2) Muscles Jared is coming off of back-to-back seconds in PASS events since adding hopples.
The 3-year-old filly pacing division (race 10) centers around arguably the nations fastest filly Agent Q (Dave Miller). The 10-time winning daughter of Western Terror is looking for her sixth straight win. She has only missed the board one time in twenty races. A win here would put her over the $1 million mark in career earnings. The top contender is undoubtedly the Jimmy Takter trainee Idyllic Beach (Yannick Gingras). The 11-time winner was impressive in her last PASS event at The Meadows, winning under wraps in 1:51.3. It was her first race since adding Lasix.
The 3-year-old colt and gelding pacing division (race 12) renews the rivalry of the number one ranked harness horse in the country Fear The Dragon (Dave Miller) vs number three Huntsville (Tim Tetrick). Fear The Dragon has, without question, held the upper hand in the rivalry, which includes their latest clash in a PASS event at The Meadows, which Fear The Dragon won, while Huntsville finished fifth. The two squared off in a thrilling stretch drive in The Adios Final back in July, in which Fear The Dragon won a heart-stopper in 1:49.1.
Huntsville draws post six for Sunday’s tilt, while Fear The Dragon will start from post seven.
It’s Family Fun Day this coming Sunday at Harrah’s Philadelphia, which includes face painting and balloon art for the kids and much more. The clubhouse dining room will open during the races. For reservations, please call 610.874.5200 or 484.490.2222. Post Time is 12:40 p.m. Eastern Time.
