Pat Berry has driving triple at Rosecroft; guides Keep On Rocking A to victory in Sunday feature

Ft. Washington, MD — Pat Berry had a driving triple and guided Keep On Rocking A to victory in the Sunday night (Jan. 17) feature at Rosecroft.

The 9-year-old son of Rocknroll Hanover had been sidelined since Oct. 12, but left alertly and carried the field through fractions of :27, :56.1, and 1:23.4 and finishing strong, winning in 1:51.2 for owner-trainer Chris Scicluna and returning a nice $17.80 for his win from post eight.

Berry also rang the cash register for winning the opener at 6-1 with Roll With Fred, an 8-year-old son of Roll With Joe, for owner Pamela Dortone and trainer Thomas Armour. He was also one of three claims on the card.

Berry scored a victory with Crush Hanover, another 6-1 winner, this time for owner Gene Robinson and trainer Steven Robinson.

It was also a happy homecoming for former Maryland Sires Stakes champion Southern Allie. The now 14-year-old won for the 80th time in his career, taking a $7,000 mid-level conditioned event with Allan Davis driving the winner for owner-trainer Brittany Bounds.

Austin Hanners, Frank Milby and Russell Foster all had driving doubles while trainer Jason Walters harnessed two winners on the opening night of the Winter-Spring meet which runs through May.
