Pegasus Spur and Modern Art return to Ontario

Lucan, ON — Seelster Farms Inc. announced today that Modern Art p,2,1:51.3; 3,1:50.2 ($1,032,249) and Pegasus Spur 2,1:58f; 3,1:54 ($1,296,683) have arrived home to their Lucan, Ontario farm from the Southern Hemisphere.

A winner of 16 races, Pegasus Spur’s victories include the Matron, Keystone Classic, Reynolds Memorial, Pennsylvania Sires Stakes Final, and the American-National with second-place performances in the Hambletonian and Breeders Crown.

Having previously stood in Ohio, Pegasus Spur has already sired the winners of $1,742,671 from 120 starters and 81 winners. Pegasus Spur is an impressive looking son of the great S J’s Photo and is out of the Speedy Crown mare Keystone Imperial. His 2008 service fee is C$4,000.

Winner of the Woodrow Wilson and the New Jersey Classic, Modern Art’s impressive first crop was extremely well received at last fall’s yearling sales. Modern Art is a son of the great Artsplace and out of Western Hanover’s full sister, Wendy M Hanover.

At 2, Modern Art paced six miles in 1:53 or better and concluded his freshman year with a mark of 1:51.3, standing a remarkable 6-6-0 in 13 starts for earnings of $719,041. In his sophomore campaign, Modern Art paced to a life’s mark of 1:50.2 and earned $313,208. Modern Art’s 2008 service fee is C$6,000.
