Pompano Beach, FL — Congratulations will go out Wednesday night (May 15) before the first race at 6:45 p.m. at the Isle Casino & Racing at Pompano Park to the April 2013 Caretaker of the Month, Peggy Nash.

Selected by the Florida Chapter of the United States Harness Writers Association, Peggy Nash works for and is a co-owner with trainer Stan Whittemore.

“Peggy just loves her horses,” said Whittemore. “When they come out of the stall and go to the paddock to race they have ‘sparkles’ on them and it makes me feel special to see them.”

Peggy and Stan had an outstanding month in April with their strong claimer, R M Blackhawk. So far in 2013 R M Blackhawk has four wins and a record mile in 1:54.2, most of that coming last month.

“Peggy is a Florida native and has been working for me for four years,” Whittemore said. “And I swear she puts “holy water’ on them in the paddock before they go out to race. We have had a great season and I would have to say that her grooming techniques and loving care makes them race all the better.”
