from Meadowlands Media Relations

East Rutherford, NJ – July 19, 2006 – Penn Noble Rocky [$6.40, $4.20, $3.40] went straight to the front and never looked back en route to a 1:57 victory in the $175,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes Championship for two-year-old colt trotters on Wednesday night at the Meadowlands.

After driver John Campbell popped the earplugs, Penn Noble Rocky responded and held off the late charge of Strive For Perfect [$4.00, $3.20] by a length in the evening’s sixth race. It was another three and a quarter lengths back to Jimmy Shin [$5.40] in third.

Two $69,100 Countess Adios divisions for freshman filly pacers were also featured on the Wednesday night card. Lady Mattgalane, driven by Ron Pierce and trained by Richard Norman, won the third race division in 1:53.

In the fourth race division, Me And My Baby breezed to a 1:54.2 victory for driver Cat Manzi and trainer Bruce Nickells. Me And My Baby also won last week’s $175,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes Championship for two-year-old fillies.
