Pennsylvania racing industry seeks executive secretary

Harrisburg, PA — The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, under the leadership of Governor Edward G. Rendell, seeks an Executive Secretary for the State Horse and Harness Racing Commissions.

This newly created position is charged with invigorating the outreach efforts of both industries, along with daily management of the Commissions’ human and financial resources. The position is headquartered in Harrisburg, Pa., and requires travel to licensed racetrack facilities in the state (four Standardbred and three Thoroughbred racetracks).

The successful candidate will be results driven and able to provide demonstrated accomplishments in:

  • Leading change
  • Leading people
  • Building market share
  • Building coalitions with industry groups
  • Managing resources

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and training is required, as is obtaining Commission licenses. Salary is commensurate with experience.
