Penzance Hanover makes it three wins in a row at Dover on Thursday

Dover, DE — Penzance Hanover made it three wins in a row and won the $32,500 Open/Preferred Handicap Pace at Dover Downs on Thursday night (March 10).

Penzance Hanover was parked to the quarter and punished the field through race fractions of :26.1, :54.2 and 1:22.1. Movin’ On Up and driver Tim Tetrick raced first up down the backstretch and Rose Run Uriah (Pat Berry) sat in the pocket, but neither could gain on the leader.

Penzance Hanover and driver Art Stafford Jr. were under wraps in winning by three-quarters of a length in 1:50. Movin’ On Up was second for trainer Chuck Crissman Jr. and Rose Run Uriah was third for trainer A. Bobby Glassmeyer.

Penzance Hanover (Somebeachsomewhere) is owned, trained and driven by Art Stafford Jr. He was sent off as the betting choice and paid $4.80 to win.

Crissy Crissman-Bier had three training wins on the card.

Racing resumes at Dover Downs on Monday and post time is 4:30 p.m. There will be a Pick-5 carryover of $15,751 on Monday beginning on the sixth race. The Pick-5 is a 50-cent minimum wager.
