Columbus, OH — Billy Perkins has been named Race Secretary for the early 2009 meet at The Red Mile. The Lexington track will open on August 2 and race three days a week, Sunday, Monday and Thursday, through September 24.

Connie Hochstetler will remain Race Secretary for the Grand Circuit meet which opens on Tuesday, September 29 and concludes on Saturday, October 10.

Perkins brings an impressive resume to The Red Mile as he previously held Race Secretary positions at Rosecroft Raceway and Hawthorne Racecourse. He is currently the Race Secretary at Player’s Bluegrass Downs in Paducah, Kentucky and worked the meet this past winter at Sports Creek Raceway in Michigan.
