Philip Milburn, 75, dies

Columbus, OH — Philip J. Milburn, 75, of Braidwood, Ill., died from cancer on Feb. 24, 2012.

He was born Oct. 6, 1936, in New Brunswick, N.J., to the late Philip J. and Elnora (nee Wehrfritz) Milburn.

Mr. Milburn was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Korean War.

He grew up in Seymour, Wis., where he became a harness horseman at the age of 16 and was one of the youngest members of the United States Trotting Association. He had a lifetime of racing and enjoyed traveling all over the U.S.

He is survived by his wife, Donna (nee Kirk); sons, Philip J. (Angela) and Philip J. (Katie) Lewis; daughter, Tracy (Jeff) Lenzie; grandchildren, Colton Lenzie, Shawn, Alexis Lenzie, Shane, Blake Lenzie, Dakota Lenzie, Darryn Lewis, Brandon Lewis, Ryne Lewis and Ian Lewis; and brother, Robert (Annelise). He was preceded in death by a son, Shawn.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Private services will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Kankakee Valley.
