Photo shoot needs help from PA horsemen

from the Hoof Beats staff

Columbus, OH — Hoof Beats is planning to shoot its most special photo in 25 years — the magazine’s 75th anniversary cover — which will be created by award-winning photographer Harry Giglio at The Meadows. We need horses and horsemen to help make Giglio’s dream a reality.

We are seeking six to 10 horses (all of the same gait), with bright-colored coats (chestnut, bright bay, grey) and bright-colored equipment to stage a mock race at The Meadows for Giglio to shoot at close range. We also need six drivers in colors to steer them.

The shoot will take place on Tuesday, May 6 or Thursday, May 8 — depending on weather predictions — between 5:30 and 7:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

Everyone participating will receive a framed cover image from the shoot, autographed by Harry Giglio and Hoof Beats Executive Editor Nicole Kraft — and the chance to be immortalized in an anniversary issue for harness racing’s greatest magazine.

Please contact us ASAP if you are willing to participate by e-mailing nkraft@ustrotting.com, or calling 877.800.8782, ext. 3233. Thank you in advance for your help!
