Toronto, February 13, 2005… Despite a 44-1 shot emerging victorious from the first leg, Woodbine’s massive Pick 7 wager was selected correctly Sunday afternoon, as seven-of-seven returned a hefty $435,235.65.
It seemed early that the snowballing pool would live to see another day, as Do It Now, a Muscles Yankee four-year-old trained by Bill Sharp Jr. and driven by Chris Christoforou, tripped the timer in 1:59.3 in the first leg (Race 3) and headed an exactor and triactor which returned $1,910.40 and $6,582.30, respectively.
The winning numbers on Sunday were 8, 10, 3, 8, 1, 1 and 1. The correct horses were as follows: Do It Now ($90.10), Herecomesyourpan ($8.30), Return Fire ($6.80), JM Vangogh ($9.30), Mr Michael ($3.50), Smithsonian ($14.50) and Honor The Cash ($11.40).
Heading into Sunday’s card the carryover had ballooned to $259,686.79.
The Pick 7 requires bettors to correctly select the winners of races 3 through 9. If there are no winning tickets, 25% of the net pool is paid out to the ticket holder(s) with the most correct winners, and the balance is then carried over to begin the next day’s Pick 7.
