East Rutherford, NJ — A Pick Six carryover of nearly $30,000 headlines the card when racing resumes Wednesday night (March 3) at Meadowlands Racetrack.
A $1 base wager, the Pick Six is available nightly on races four through nine. A nine-day Pick Six carryover produced a $131,599 payout on Saturday, February 6, 2010. It was the highest payout this year and the second highest in track history behind a record $1.3 million pool and $193,384 payoff on April 4, 2009.
Meadowlands track announcer Ken Warkentin has put together his own Pick Six ticket and analysis below:
Pick 6 ticket-$64-2,7/2,10/3,8/5,10/1,6/2,6
Race 4: 2-Kurt Rustler, a 10-year-old veteran has cycled forward off the upset. In line for a better trip from post 2, 7-Cardmaster came a big back half in his first start off the bench. Has some back class for the Burke barn.
Race 5: 2-Most Happy Dragon. Junior Trendsetter miles were quite commendable, Tetrick can trip out from an inside slot. 10-Hes Redhot, a mystery horse from Chicago who won his lone start in a romp over snow for Erv Miller.
Race 6: 3-Cosmic Madness. Dover Downs invader has won twice this year with decent late response, changes barns and draws well. 8-Prime Xample A. Veteran has quickly sharpened on the comeback trail, beaten favorite can grind it out.
Race 7: 5-Hypnotist controlled the pace and barely out sprinted in :27.3, second try off Lasix shows lines in $50,000 claimers. 10-Poker Dice chased a 1:51.4 race track ruler, plummets all the way to the bottom rung for a high percentage barn.
Race 8: 1-S A Poster Boy shows gradual recent improvement, fresh off a solid second to a runaway and lands the pole. 6-Honolulu Hunk got shuffled and came back for third in his return to the mile track, a fresh threat with more class than most of these.
Race 9: 2-Seymour Doolittle flashed a hint of form two starts back while essentially overmatched and drops into a blank field. 6-Sly Grin N. Based on last year’s record he should blow this bunch away; note the barn change on this Yonkers shipper to Carmine Fusco.
