Pink Pistol, UF Lindsay Lou repeat in Meadows series

Washington, PA — Pink Pistol and UF Lindsay LouWho each captured her second straight series win in Wednesday’s (Mar. 9) secondleg of the Mary Wohlmuth Memorial Trot at The Meadows. Pink Bike took the other$12,000 second-leg division in the event for 3- and 4-year-old filly and maretrotters.

Pink Pistol had the easier time of it, powering tothe front for Dave Palone before the quarter and coasting to an 8-3/4-lengthvictory in 1:55. Regal Woman and Moshannon Motown completed the ticket. RobHarmon conditions the 3-year-old daughter of Cantab Hall-August Revenue, whohas won all four starts this year, for Harmon Racing Stable, KnightstalkerStable and Lynne Mondrick.

On the point after a quarter-pole move, UF LindsayLou Who had to deal with the serious challenge of Flowers N Songs, who enteredthe day undefeated in her three-race career. UF Lindsay Lou Who pulled away inthe lane to down the challenger by 2-1/2 lengths, with Witnesstheprincessthird. Brian Zendt drove the 4-year-old daughter of DonatoHanover-Sweetspellosuccess for trainer Leslie Zendt and owner Up Front Racing LLC.

In the $20,000 Winners Over $10,000 Life HandicapTrot, Tamarind was parked to the three-eighths from post nine but had littletrouble holding the lead once there. He scored in 1:53.2 for Aaron Merriman andowner/trainer Bill Bercury, 1-3/4 lengths better than the pocket-sittingSouthwind Warsaw, while Princess Pablano rallied wide for show. The 8-year-oldson of Angus Hall-Spicegirl Kosmos extended his career bankroll to $775,249.

Palone piloted five winners and Mike Wilder four onthe 15-race card.
