Plainridge to present Sawmill Series for claiming pacers

Plainville, MA — Plainridge Park will continue its round of special events for the fall season when it presents the Sawmill Series for claiming pacers.

The first of the three events, which is for $4,000 claimers, is the Two By Four elimination legs, contested for a purse of $3,500, will be held on Thursday, October 15. The top money earners in the legs will return on Thursday, October 22 to race in the final for a purse of $10,000.

The second Sawmill Series event is the Two By Six, getting underway on Thursday, October 29. Written for $6,000 claimers, the Two By Six eliminations will race for $4,500. On Thursday, November 5 the top earners in the eliminations will return for the $12,500 final.

The third event in the Sawmill Series is the Two By Eight, written for $8,000 claimers, which will begin on Thursday, November 12. Eliminations raced for $5,500 will determine the field for the $15,000 final, to be raced on November 19, which is the final Thursday of the 2015 meet.

All horses are eligible to be claimed in the eliminations and the finals of each series. There are no starting or nomination fees, and the nominations close with the draw for the first leg of each event. No coupled entries will be allowed in the finals of any of the Sawmill Series events.

Plainridge Park, home of Massachusetts’ first casino, races Monday through Thursday at 2:30 p.m. The 2015 meet continues through November 30.
