Pleasure’s Song wins Meadows series split

by Evan Pattak, for The Meadows

Meadow Lands, PA — Pleasure’s Song used a powerful backside brush to open a daylight lead, then cruised to victory in a $15,000 division of the Whotookwhat, a series for 3-year-old trotting fillies, on Thursday (April 23) at The Meadows.

SJ’s Minolta broke stride early but recovered and trotted diligently on the outside to take the lead before the three-quarter pole. But when Dick Stillings unleashed Pleasure’s Song, the daughter of Windsong’s Legacy-B J’s Pleasure responded by opening up nearly five quick lengths. She prevailed in 1:59, 2-1/4 lengths better than the game SJ’s Minolta. Suesrayofsunshine was third.

Allthatnabagofchip took the other $15,000 division in the series’ second leg for Tony Hall, trainer Kent Sherman and Kor-Ans Stables.

The final is set for next Thursday, April 30. The series is named for Whotookwhat, a 7-year-old mare who surpassed $600,000 in career earnings with a show finish in Wednesday’s (April 22) Filly & Mare Preferred Trot.
