Pocono grand slam for Team Orange Crush

Wilkes-Barre, PA — Trainer Julie Miller and driver Andy Miller combined for four winners on the 12-race Labor Day (Sept. 2) card at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono card, with all four taking lifetime marks.

Two of Team Orange Crush’s winning quartet were 2-year-olds: The Father Patrick-Bell Power trotting filly Becky Kronos broke her maiden in 1:57.4 for Bruni Racing Team AB, while the Sombeachsomewhere-Pleasure Beach pacing filly The Bethinator ran her lifetime mark to 4-for-5 with a 1:53.4 victory for the Megan Rogers Racing Stable.

The Muscle Hill 4-year-old American Moni, the last foal out of the champion mare Moni Maker, put it all together as the heavy chalk with a 1:53.3 score for the Moni Maker Stable. After being winless at 2 and 3, and mustering a win and two second-place finishes so far this season, American Moni won by a resounding 7-3/4 lengths.

Completing the Millers’ grand slam was American Kronos. Last seen in an Hambletonian Oaks elimination, the sophomore Donato Hanover filly found Monday’s easier company to her liking as she won by 8-1/2 lengths in 1:53.3 for Marvin Katz, Al Libfeld and Dr. David Goodrow.
