Wilkes-Barre, PA — Saturday, July 16, is the 46th anniversary of Pocono Downs and the celebration will be the biggest ever.

Fans of the track have had the pleasure of gazing at the bright red 2011 Porsche Boxster convertible from Wyoming Valley Motors located in the racing lobby since Kentucky Derby Day, and that evening, one lucky winner will get the keys and the thrill of owning the car of their dreams. The anniversary is part of the Back to the Track weekend held in conjunction with the U.S. Trotting Association.

Racing Rewards card members have had the opportunity to register for the car once per day by swiping at any kiosk in the racing lobby. On Saturday, they must be present to win, and there will be a night full of prizes leading up to the car giveaway. Fans have the opportunity to win racing vouchers; dinner gift certificates to Pacer’s Clubhouse, which is the restaurant with a fabulous view of the track; concert tickets to the Doobie Brothers, part of the Hot Summer Fun series held on the track; and an all-inclusive trip to the Little Brown Jug.

Friday, July 15, during the Back to the Track weekend, fans will have an opportunity to experience a ride in the official Starter Car, as well as take a tour through the $6.5 million paddock built in 2009. Official souvenir t-shirts will be given out, and “lucky horseshoes kicked right off a winning horse” will be piled up in front of the Winner’s Circle for fans to grab and cherish.
