“Polar Vortex” filly is born

Clarklake, MI — At 9 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 30), Snow Ridge Farm in Clarklake, Mich., welcomed a brave little filly who decided to enter this frigid world. With wind chill temperatures recorded at 47 below zero, she arrived.

This being the third baby of the season thus far, today was the one day owner Libby Myers hoped wouldn’t happen….”but she made it up within 36 minutes on her own two feet, ate on her own by the hour, and was running laps around her mother Its A Sham within 1:20 from birth.”

Sire of the filly is Manhardt.

“This season so far the babies have been very strong. We did change one thing, and that was our feeding program last fall to Elite Nutrition LLC, Yoder’s Brothers non GMO feed. It has seemed to really help with our horses,” said Myers.

Look for this girl in two years to heat up the track.
