Pompano to offer September 3 qualifying races

Pompano Beach, FL — The Florida Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association and Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park are pleased to announce that there will be qualifying races on Saturday (September 3) to provide a qualifying opportunity for horses that may enter matinee Sunshine Stake leg number three on September 10.

Note that qualifying standards for the Sunshine are 2:12 for trotters and 2:06 for pacers and entrants must have a clean line in qualifying time within 75 days of the declaration date. Declaration date for the September 10 Sunshine is Tuesday (September 6) at 9 a.m. at the Pompano Park race office.

All horses declared must have a USTA electronic eligibility issued to start in qualifiers and the races for purse. Declaration fees shall accompany race entries.

Pompano Park will also have qualifying races on September 10 and 17 in preparation for pari-mutuel reopening on September 21. Effective with the start of pari-mutuel racing on September 21 entrants will need a clean line in qualifying time in the past 60 days and electronic eligibility issued.

Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park plans a grand reopening celebration on Saturday (September 24), also the Sunshine Final number two night. It promises to be an exciting night of competitive racing and entertainment.

Out thanks to John Yinger and his staff for hosting the September 3 qualifiers. Pompano Park and FSBOA will share costs to conduct these qualifying races.

Note that the Pompano main track will be open for training starting August 9 on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday through September 3. On September 5, Coon & Associates will begin work on the main track that will take several days.

The FSBOA office will be open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. starting August 1 and through September 2. Regular office hours (8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday) will resume on Tuesday (September 6). The office will be closed on Labor Day (Monday, September 5).
