Ponda Adventure continues winning ways in Indiana

Anderson, IN — Ponda Adventure extended his winning streak to five with a 2-3/4-length score in his fourth-round Indiana Sires Stakes event for 3-year-old trotting colts and geldings on Thursday (July 21) at Harrah’s Hoosier Park. Adamsville Road captured the other division.

Ponda Adventure continued to assert his divisional dominance with a 1:52.4 win the $48,500 second division. With regular pilot Trace Tetrick in the bike, Ponda Adventure utilized his customary gate-to-wire tactics to equal his lifetime best.

A gelded son of Swan For All-Wildflower who was bred by Pond-A-Acres, Ponda Adventure has now amassed $402,218 in lifetime earnings for the Engel Stable of Illinois, Louis Willinger and Jerry Graham. He paid $2.60 to win.

Ponda Adventure’s victory was one of three training wins on the evening for Erv Miller and one of four driving victories for Tetrick.

One of Tetrick’s other victories on the program was in the $48,000 first division with trainer Tyler George’s Adamsville Road, who went gate-to-wire in 1:53.1. Utilizing a :27.2 final quarter, Adamsville Road held off a late surge from Iwontbackdown As to record his fourth win of the season and establish a new lifetime best.

The son of Swan For All—She Wore Red, who paid $12.00, has now won five of 15 lifetime starts while pushing his lifetime bankroll to $73,709. Adamsville Road is owned by the Mel Rose Stable and Joe Nesselroad, and was bred by Joyce McClelland.

Indiana Sires Stakes action will continue at Harrah’s Hoosier Park Racing & Casino on Friday (July 22) with one $97,500 division for 3-year-old pacing colts and geldings highlighting the 14-race card.
