Power is on in Delaware Race Office

by Paul Ramlow, USTA Internet News Manager

Columbus, OH — The heavy winds that hit central Ohio on Sunday continue to cause problems at the Delaware County Fair.

The power was off in the Race Office for most of the morning and subsequently, entries could not be taken for the Thursday, September 18, card. However, with the aid of a generator, the power is now back on, and the phone lines are now back up as well. Entries will be taken for the Thursday card until 1:30 p.m.

The four Sunday stakes races that were carried over to Monday will be raced at 12:00 noon today, with or without power. The regular Monday card will go to the post at 1:30 p.m.

Delaware County Fair officials have also decided there is no possible way to uplink their simulcast signal for Monday. So therefore, all simulcast outlets will not be able to wager on the September 15 race card. These problems are being worked on and officials will uplink the signal on Tuesday, September 16, as originally scheduled. Post time for Tuesday is 12:00 noon.
