Prancing Queen blazes Buckeye Stallion Series

Columbus, OH — The fourth leg of the Buckeye Stallion Series kicked off with 3-year-old filly pacers at Eldorado Scioto Downs on Tuesday (Aug. 30). Three divisions, each carrying a purse of $17,500, went behind the gate.

Prancing Queen (Brett Miller) went wire-to-wire in the second and fastest division of the night. As the 8-5 second choice, Prancing Queen posted fractions in :27.2, :55, and 1:22.3 before stopping the clock in a new lifetime best of 1:50.3. Bet On Loretta (Austin Hanners) was second while Catamaran (Josh Sutton) completed the trifecta.

Prancing Queen has hit the board 10 of 14 starts this season. The Downbytheseaside filly has scored five wins in 2022 for trainer Scott Cox and has banked $77,478 in lifetime earnings. Prancing Queen is owned in partnership by Jason Ash, Brent Parent, and Scott Cox Stables.

Love Me Hill (Miller) established a new lifetime mark of 1:52.1 in the first division. After leaving from the rail, the daughter of Racing Hill settled into a pocket trip behind Fantasy Life. At 6-1, Love Me Hill sat patiently until the top of the stretch. Popping the pocket, Love Me Hill best Fantasy Life (Chris Page) by a head with She Means Business (Tyler Smith) in third.

The victory marks the first BSS win of the season for Love Me Hill. With 15 starts in 2022, the Virgil Morgan Jr. trainee has bankrolled $40,750 for owner Tom Hill.

The final division was taken by Coastal (Page) in 1:52.3. The daughter of Downbytheseaside didn’t disappoint her backers as the 1-5 favorite. Leaving from post five, the filly went straight to the top. Unchallenged the remainder of the mile, she set fractions in :28.1, :56, and 1:24.2 before cruising across the finish. Party Cruiser (Sutton) was second with Mermaid By The Sea (Miller) coming in third.

Coastal now boasts $116,395 in lifetime earnings. Trained by Ron Burke, the sophomore has posted five wins, two seconds, and two third place finishes this year. Coastal is owned by Burke Racing Stable, J&T Silva Stables, Jason Melillo, and Beasty LLC.
