Prayer Session scores again in Philly feature

by Mike Bozich, for Harrah’s Philadelphia

Chester, PA — Gary Evans and The Foulk Stable’s Prayer Session (Corey Callahan) picked up his third straight win at Harrah’s Philadelphia on Thursday (June 4).

The 6-year-old gelding and eight others took the stage in the featured event, a trot for non-winners of $15,000 in their last five starts.

Starting from post one, Prayer Session backed off the early trot, coming away fifth. The son of Like A Prayer floated out first over towards the leader Derby (George Napolitano Jr.) shy of the half. These two were on even terms at the top of the stretch.

They battled tooth and nail down to the finish, with Prayer Session winning by a neck, stopping the clock in 1:55. Five Towns (Brett Miller) finished third.

It was the 24th career win for the Trish Foulk trainee and his seventh of the season. The winner paid $3.40.
