Preakness offering at Northfield Park

Northfield, OH — Northfield Park is the place to be this Saturday (May 16) to watch and wager on the 140th running of the Preakness Stakes live from Pimlico Racecourse.

Doors open early at 9:30 a.m. and first post at Pimlico is set for 10:30 a.m. Early bird wagering on the Preakness will be available. In addition, 40 other tracks from the U.S., Canada and Australia will beam their signals in for simulcast wagering.

Don’t miss out on reserving a private seating carrel and television for your viewing pleasure. Carrel seats are currently on sale at the grandstand center program stand.

If you arrive early, join us for a special morning snack of a donut and coffee. The $1 special begins at 9:30 a.m. and will be served in the Racebook while supplies last.

Be sure to join Bob “Railbird” Roberts and track announcer Ayers Ratliff for a Pimlico Racecourse handicapping seminar which begins at 10 a.m. The seminar is free and will offer a host of door prizes for attendees.

Visit five of Northeast Ohio’s finest food trucks outside on the trackside apron to satisfy your hunger. The food trucks will be on-site from 12-7 p.m., offering delicious gourmet food items while you listen to live music by The Michelle Romary Band and Unknown Reason. Plus, stop by and play games at tables sponsored by 92.3 The Fan, WMJI Majic 105.7, and 102.1 WDOK.

Players Club members can enter the $2,000 Pimlico Handicapping Contest beginning with race four. The top prize is $1,000 cash. If you’re not a Players Club member, simply join that day to play instantly.

Northfield Park will also offer prize drawings throughout the day. Just fill out the entry blank that you receive when you enter and deposit it in the contest bin located in the center of the grandstand. Winners will be drawn randomly throughout the day. Thousands of dollars in cash and prizes will be given away.
