Preparations continue for Fall Rosecroft meet

Ft. Washington, MD — Race Secretary Mike Wandishin has released the first condition sheet of the Fall 2012 meet at Rosecroft and purses are expected to average at least $35,000 a night for the meet.

This is an increase of 75 percent from the Spring meet.

Racing will continue to take place on Tuesday and Saturday evenings with a first post of 7:25 p.m.

Qualifiers will continue to take place before the races on Saturday with a first post of 5 p.m.; however, the first qualifiers of the meet, scheduled for Saturday (September 8) will take place at 10 a.m.

The draw schedule for Rosecroft has changed slightly to the following:

  • Enter Wednesday from 12-3 p.m. for Saturday’s card
  • Enter Thursday from 12-3 p.m. for Tuesday’s card
  • Enter Friday from 12-1 p.m. for Saturday qualifiers
  • Scratch time is 10 a.m. the morning after entries are taken.

Applications for Fall 2012 racing privileges are available at Rosecroft Raceway’s website and are due at Rosecroft, not postmarked, by September 8 for horses wishing to be considered for the opening week draw.

Maryland Sire Stakes races return to Rosecroft on October 20 and October 27, with the prospect of world champion trotter Googoo Gaagaa’s return to the races in the eliminations on October 20.
