Pride Of Windswept remains undefeated in Maryland Sire Stakes

Berlin, MD — Racing fun continued on Wednesday (June 30) at Ocean Downs with Maryland Sire Stakes preliminaries highlighting the night.

Once again Corey Callahan guided 3-year-old filly trotter Pride Of Windswept (Charlie De Vie) to victory in the first round preliminary for Maryland sired trotting fillies.

Charging out from post six, the pair controlled every fraction in the perfectly rated 2:00.1 mile with Open Till Midnight (Four Starz Robro) finishing second.

Shaun Callahan trains the winning filly for owner-breeders John and Sarah Swart. Pride Of Windswept now has 12 wins in 14 lifetime starts.

The 3-year-old pacing colts and geldings went to post in race six on the very warm night at the Ocean oval. Dream Weaver (Capitol Power) flew down the stretch to catch the front running Real Made (Rusty’s For Real) in the last steps to score the half-length victory in 1:57.

Frank Lemon is the owner and breeder with Bart Bradley having the training duties. Corey Callahan was in the bike, scoring a stakes double.

The second round of Maryland Sire Stakes go to post on Monday (July 5) and Wednesday (July 7). Ocean Downs will also be having the Ostrich and Camel races on Wednesday.
