Qualifiers begin March 16 at Scarborough Downs

Augusta, ME — With opening day set for Saturday (March 30) with a post time of 4 p.m. and a 1:05 p.m. post time on Sunday (March 31), Scarborough Downs has announced the qualifying schedule.

Scarborough Downs will hold pre-meet qualifying races on Saturday (March 16), Wednesday (March 20), Saturday (March 23) and Wednesday (March 27) at 10 a.m.

The health requirements that will be required by Scarborough Downs will be a valid coggins test and EHV vaccinations within six months.

Any horse that is enrolled in the Controlled Medication Program must have all paperwork filed with the Commission Veterinarian before it can be declared in to start.

No entries can be accepted by the race office without the proper paperwork submitted. The Commission Veterinarian will accept the paperwork on the day a horse qualifies. The Controlled Medication Program paperwork can be found at this link to the MSHRC.

Please remember to have all of your necessary licenses with the Maine State Harness Racing Commission by the time you get ready to qualify. No horses will be allowed to qualify unless the owner is licensed.
