Plainville, MA — In preparation for the earliest opening in its history, Plainridge Racecourse will hold the first qualifying races of the season on Saturday, March 7, at 12:00 p.m. The entry box for these initial qualifiers will close at noon on Friday, March 6.

Qualifying races will also be held on Tuesday, March 10, and on Saturday, March 14. The box will close at noon on the day prior to each of these qualifying cards.

Plainridge Racecourse opens its 2009 season on March 16 and the spring meet will conclude on June 5. Live racing will be conducted on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at the traditional post time of 4:00 p.m.

The second portion of the 2009 season at Plainridge will begin on August 31 and continue through November 28.
