Harrington, DE — Two divisions of eliminations were held in the 7th Annual Bobby Quillen Memorial at Harrington Raceway Monday.

The fastest of the two splits went to Burke Racing, Weaver Bruscemi, Panhellenic Stable and James Koran’s Clear Vision ($3.60, Brett Miller), who took the second division in a track record equaling time of 1:49.2. Trained by Ron Burke, the 7-year-old Western Hanover gelding cleared pacesetter Michael’s Power approaching three-quarters and drew away on the field for a dominant performance. Heston Blue Chip finished second, while Escape the News was third. Dynamic Youth finished fourth to secure his place in next week’s final.

Clear Vision recorded his 22nd career win and surpassed $1.55 million in career earnings. The mark equaled the track record set by 2012 Quillen champion Betterthancheddar.

“The Burkes’ have done a great job with this horse,” said an elated Miller. “I think he’s as sharp as he’s ever been.”

Foiled Again took the 1st division of the Quillen Memorial in 1:49.4 for driver Yannick Gingras on Monday night at Harrington Raceway.

Clear Vision’s stablemate, Foiled Again ($2.80, Yannick Gingras), in pursuit of his 3rd Quillen victory, took the 1st division with a 1:49.4 triumph. The 9-year-old Dragon Again gelding made the lead quickly from post five and strolled through fractions of 27.2, 55.3, 1:23.1 before scorching home in 26.3 for an easy win over Sapphire City, Mcerlean and Mel Mara.

Foiled Again notched his 71st lifetime win and boosted his career earnings to more than $5.3 million, further eclipsing his status as the sport’s richest pacer of all-time.

The top four finishers from each division will return to compete in the $223,500 Final on Monday September 16.

In the overnight feature, Doug Lewis-trained Mojo Terror ($3.60, Tim Tetrick) registered his fourth consecutive win in the $19,000 Open.
