Racehorses in demand at Blooded Horse Sale

Delaware, OH — Young, competitive racehorses were hot items at the recently completed Blooded Horse Sale in Delaware, Ohio. A variety of yearlings, broodmares, and racing prospects rounded out the 793 horse catalogue.

Illinois bred conditioned pacer Y Z Two Fifty topped the sale at $27,000. The 3-year-old son of Park Place was consigned by Tom Harmer and purchased by James Lach of Buffalo, New York.

The fast Indiana bred 4-year-old trotter JL Flying Arrows went to Pompano Park on a $26,000 bid from Ed Hauck. The son of Ripkenā€™s Victory had just won in 1:55.3 at Indiana Downs.

Ultra-consistent Ohio colt stakes winner Game Jocko stayed in Ohio on a $21,000 bid from Bob Wehner. The Expensive Scooter 3-year-old hit the board in each of his last eight starts.

John Sherota got the nod on the competitive conditioned pacing mare Sassys Surprise for $19,500. The daughter of Salinas Hanover leaves Northfield Park to race at Monticello.

Baileys Place, a 3-year-old pacing filly, also went to New York on a $15,000 bid from John Mongeon.

Possessive Chip, a 5-year-old daughter of Self Possessed topped the broodmares at $12,500. In foal to Sierra Kosmos, the half- sister to four in 2:00 was purchased by Midwest Speed Sale.

Three of the top four yearlings were Ohio bred trotters. The highest priced in the 187 yearling segment was a son of Ilooklikemymom at $8,500. A trio shared the spotlight at $6,000, including a Pegasus Spur colt whose proceeds went to New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program.
