Bill O’Donnell is seminar guest at Mohawk

Campbellville, ON — Hall of Famer Bill O’Donnell will be the special guest of Greg Blanchard and Mike Hamilton for a Metro Pace/Breeders Crown ‘meet and greet’ seminar this Saturday from 6:00 to 6:45 p.m. in the Mohawk grandstand.

O’Donnell has won numerous Breeders Crown titles over the course of his illustrious career and also captured the first Metro Pace in 1988 with Totally Ruthless.

He is a member of both the Canadian and U.S. Halls of Fame and was the first driver in harness racing history to reach $10 million in purse winnings in a single season.

The native of Springhill, Nova Scotia, who now resides in Acton, Ontario, is a career winner of close to 5,700 races and $100 million in his career.

Saturday’s program at Mohawk is one of the best this season anywhere with four Breeders Crown championships for older trotters and pacers being featured. Also offered up is the C$1 million Metro Pace Final and the C$782,000 She’s A Great Lady Final, along with the Simcoe Stakes for 3-year-old colt and gelding trotters.

In total, close to C$5 million in purse money will be up for grabs. First race post time on Saturday is 7:20 p.m.
