Racing cancelled at Rockingham Park

SALEM, NH — A power failure at Rockingham Park on Friday afternoon caused the last two races on the 10-race live card to be cancelled.
The electrical system went dark during the eighth race, and while that contest was able to be completed without lights or the tote board operational, the ninth and 10 races were called. Full card simulcasting was also shut down for a couple of hours, and it was hoped that the power would be restored for simulcasting by 6 p.m.
The Pick 3 on races seven through nine was considered a 4-1-all, and consequently returned $54.40.
Live racing for Saturday is on schedule, with post time of 1:05 p.m.
Also on Saturday, the track will host the qualifying round of the Coors Light Harness Handicapping Tournament with $1,000 in prize money up for grabs. The first 20 finishers will be invited back for the final round on the following Saturday. The Miller Summer Fun Day is also still on schedule for Saturday, July 8th.
