Allamerican Cheer was a head winner over Maravich.

Ross Wolfenden waited patiently off the pace as Tudy (Matt Kakaley) fought off Allmar Surprise (Vic Kirby) and Yanks (Allan Davis) until the turn down the lane.

Allamerican Cheer then came on the outside to get up at the wire in a personal best 1:55.4 clocking. Maravich (Corey Callahan) took the lead briefly in the stretch and held on for second. Blueridge Empire (Corey Braden) was third.

Fred Hertrich bred and owns Allamerican Cheer, a 5-year-old Yankee Glide-Chelemark Ginger mare trained by Charlie Tribbett. He won for the fifth time this year and has now earned $28,934 in purses.

The Meadows
On a night when the sloppy track was off a second or more, Sir Caviar demolished a distinguished field in the impressive time of 1:53.4, capturing his fifth straight in Wednesday’s $22,500 Preferred Handicap Trot at The Meadows. Brian Zendt sent Sir Caviar to his customary position on the lead, where he tolerated no challenge from the pocket-sitting Rembrandt Spur and downed that rival by 2-1/4 lengths. Diamond Hunter was well back in third. Leslie Zendt trains Sir Caviar, a 5-year-old SJ’s Caviar-Sierra Flower K gelding who now has won 46.7 percent of his 60 career starts, and owns with Bill Zendt. Aaron Merriman drove three winners on the 15-race card.

Saratoga Casino and Raceway
Blue Collar Raider (Keystone Raider) kept his win streak alive on Wednesday night at Saratoga Casino and Raceway. The 8-year-old pacer has been a regular in the $5,000 claimers this year at the Spa and has enjoyed a very strong season. On Wednesday, Jordan Derue picked up the catch drive for trainer Kelly Clark as Blue Collar Raider took back early only to come first over approaching the half. The move was well timed as he pounced on the race’s leader before stepping away past three-quarters. The veteran stopped the clock in 1:58.3 for his fourth win in a row and tenth victory of the season. Glen B (Billy Dobson) was the runner-up to the race’s favorite over the sloppy going while Ehi Guaglione (Scott Mongeon) came on for third. Blue Collar Raider is one of the nominees for the claiming pacer of the year award at the $5,000-$6,000 level. The awards will be announced at the Dec. 17 holiday banquet.
