Breewood Brier extends her win streak at Saratoga

Saratoga Springs, NY — Claiming trotter Breewood Brier (Amigo Hall) extended her win streak on Friday night at Saratoga Casino and Raceway, a streak that dates back to last year.

Breewood Brier was a neck winner over One Nineteen on Friday.

The 6-year-old mare scored via her patented first over journey on Friday, a trip she has utilized to win four consecutive races. Phil Fluet trains and drives the mare that has started out the season three-for-three despite stepping up from the $5,000 claimers to the $10,000 level. Her Friday victory came in 2:00.3. Breewood Brier was claimed from her Friday race.

Open trotter Upfront Billy (Billy Dobson) extended his own win streak to three with a closing victory in the evening’s $20,000 feature, a win that came in 1:56.3.

Live racing continues on Saturday night at Saratoga with a first post of 6:45 p.m.

Buffalo Raceway
Talladega Hanover, a 6-year-old Cantab Hall gelding, won the $11,000 featured trot in 1:59.2 for owners Www Ventures LLC at Buffalo Raceway on Friday night. It was the fourth win in eight attempts this season for Talladega Hanover.
Driver Kevin Cummings put Talladega Hanover ($4.80), the 7-5 favorite in the race, on the lead and he set all the fractions in the race, :28.4, :58.3 and 1:28.4. A :30.3 last quarter-mile put the winner a nose ahead of second place finisher Partici Pator (Jim McNeight). Oaklea Tyson (Ray Fisher, Jr.) came in third. Trained by Dan Walski, the $5,500 share of the purse put Talladega Hanover’s season’s earnings at $23,900 and $128,110 lifetime. It was his 14th win in 86 lifetime starts. Dan Noble led all drivers with five wins on the night.
