Tuesday’s (June 30) edition of Racing Roundup features a results story from The Meadows.

Certified Ideal used twice, still best in Meadows feature

Washington, PA — Used twice in the race, Certified Ideal still was much the best in capturing Monday’s $22,500 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows.

Certified Ideal was looped from the gate by the 9-5 favorite, Foxy Lady, but found a seat fifth. When Tony Hall moved her first over, the 4-year-old daughter of Western Ideal-Areba’s Last put Foxy Lady away in the final turn and scored in 1:52.2, two lengths better than Ladystar. Phone Terror was third.

Randy Bendis trains Certified Ideal, who now boasts $231,042 in career earnings, and owns with Mike Novosel Jr., Tom Pollack and James Walton.

Dave Palone and Hall each drove three winners on the 15-race card.
