Delivered From Zin was a 1:51.3 winner in the Preferred Handicap Pace.

Big-hearted Delivered From Zin, with meet leader Corey Callahan driving, wore down Ise The By Boy and Ron Pierce and fast-finishing Nova Artist with Allan Davis in deep stretch to win a 1:51.3 photo finish in the $36,000 Preferred Handicap Pace.

Howard Taylor owns the Sealed N Delivered-Zinful gelding who has been in the first three finishers in seven of eight outings this year. It was the second straight week that Ise The By Boy has been second, beaten by a neck each time. Nova Artist, another consistent contender, was third.

Delivered From Zin has already won $69,850 in 2012 and $479,354 lifetime.

In the $27,500 co-featured Open Pace, Tim Tetrick took Bondy N out heading to the clubhouse turn but this week found cover behind Kiss My Art (Andy Miller). On the final turn Bondy N moved to the outside and beat three other rivals to the finish line, chalking up a 1:52.3 victory. Catchmecullen A (Tim Curtin) was a close second with Winsmith Art (John Wagner) edging Samandar (Ron Pierce) for third.

Peter Tritton conditions Bondy N, an 11-year-old altered son of former U.S. campaigner Live Or Die and Killarney, owned by Harry von Knoblauch. Bondy N won for the third time at Dover after a Meadowlands winning debut. The New Zealand-expatriate has now won 27 of 62 starts and $624,706 in his career.

After five wins Sunday, Tim Tetrick added four more visits to the winner’s circle to his total. Corey Callahan also added four wins to his track leading total. Bobby Glassmeyer had two owner-trainer wins, Dylan Davis also had two training wins and Howard Taylor had an owner double.

The Meadows
Nickie K, who lost her last three races by a total margin of less than one length, ended the frustration Monday at The Meadows when she brushed wide to capture the $22,500 Filly & Mare Preferred Trot. Shuffled to fifth, Nickie K angled off the pylons for Dan Noble and blazed home in the middle of the track to triumph in 1:55.4 over a “good” surface. Kandor Hanover the 1-1 favorite, was second by a half-length, while early leader Summertime Yankee saved show. Dan Walski trains Nickie K, an 8-year-old daughter of Ilooklikemymom-Italian Lady who extended her career bankroll to $221,494, for Karen Walski. Dick Stillings drove three winners on the 15-race card.

Pompano Park
A rather predictable development occurred in the personal pursuit by Joe Pavia, Jr. of 5,000 lifetime winning drives on the Monday evening, March 5 program at The Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park: The accomplished horseman unveiled yet another promising 3-year-old prospect. The sophomore pacing filly Arodasi was set to roll after a trio of February qualifiers. Pavia kept the filly well back of a fast early pace set by RM Mornin Sunshine, driven by Fern Paquet, Jr., and You Can’t Fool Me, in rein to Jason Dillander. When asked for final-half pace in the $4,000 conditioned test she was all business when blasting by the winded front end combatants, leading to a life’s record clocking of 1:53.3 in her 2012 debut under the lights. Arodasi, by Western Terror–Do Me Justice, competed at two last year in the Equinox Series and in a division of the John W. Simpson Stakes at Pocono Downs. She was originally sold, by the name of Sunday Justice, as hip 246 at Harrisburg, Pa. in 2010, for $37,000. Ownership is held by Pavia and Steven Held, John Barbera and AGC Stables. Pavia now stands at 4,994 lifetime wins in the bike, in addition to 590 training wins for over $6.7 million in lifetime training purses.

Monticello Raceway
Imposter A, an Australian-bred, altered son of Fake Left, scored his seventh victory of the fledgling season at Monticello Raceway on Monday afternoon, March 5 and with that 1:58 triumph the pacer now leads the nation in races won this year. Mike Forte was in the sulky once again for trainer Elisha Lafreniere, and he used the front-end route with the veteran pacer to score a season’s best for the 9-year-old. At the wire, Imposter A hung on for a head decision over High Calibre N to notch his seventh victory in eight season’s starts. “He’s a gritty old guy and real brave since he’s been winning so often,” driver Mike Forte noted after the victory. “We were forced to race on the engine today but he (Imposter A) is just as comfortable coming from behind. Of course it’s always a pleasure to drive a horse that is so competitive and gives you his all, and is successful as a result.” Owned by the C&F Associates of Hillsdale, N.J., Imposter A paid $4.90 to win.
