Delivered From Zin wins Dover Preferred Pace

Dover, DE — Delivered From Zin got back on the winning trail in the $30,000 Preferred Pace on Monday over a ‘sloppy’ track at Dover Downs.

Delivered From Zin won the Preferred Pace in a time of 1:50.4.

Corey Callahan moved Howard Taylor’s Delivered From Zin out on the backstretch and quickly got to the front before the final turn en route to a convincing 1:50.4 triumph in this week’s Preferred edition. Kiss My Art came on for Ron Pierce to take second in front of Jeremy’s Successor and Sean Bier in the select field of six.

The win was the second for driver Corey Callahan and trainer Dylan Davis. Delivered From Zin has now won $451,754 lifetime.

In the $30,000 Delaware Special, Broadies Song (David Miller), trained and co-owned by Josh Green with Chasing Paper and Dorothy Parker, scored his first win on this side of the border, recording a 1:51.3 victory, capping off the event with a :27.2 final panel to best Catchmecullen A (Tim Curtin) and Nova Artist (Allan Davis). The win extends Broadies Song’s career bankroll to $316,249.

Frank Bellino’s Southwestern Dream dropped down from the Preferred ranks to notch a strong 1:53.4 victory in the $23,000 Open Pace. David Miller drove the Bruce Saunders conditioned gelded son of Cambest-Lady Of Art, outlasting Dirty Devil (Matt Kakaley) by a neck. Fancyfreeshark (Jon Roberts) was third. Southwestern Dream has now earned $788,452 lifetime.

The Meadows
Victory Is Coming took the point with a quarter-pole move, then held on late to win her second straight in Monday’s $22,500 Filly & Mare Preferred Trot at The Meadows. Sitting third early, Victory Is Coming moved aggressively for Mike Wilder over the sloppy surface. The 5-year-old daughter of Victory Sam-Norse Comer had just enough to survive the late charge of Allthatnabagofchip by a neck in 1:59. Trotslikethewind was a rallying third. Ammon Hershberger trains Victory Is Coming, who now boasts $264,423 in career earnings, for Betty Shaw and John Red Shaw. Eric Ledford drove three winners on the 15-race card.

Monticello Raceway
Billy Dobson reined five winners on the Monday card at Monticello. In his first start, Dobson finished fifth, but then won the next two races, the third with Danielle Dailey’s Oh I Wish in 2:04.1 and then the fourth behind Durazzano Stables’ Flak Jacket N in 2:03.1. After a few more races where he was off the board Dobson stuck again with Jeff Pocaro’s Rick’s Jackpot in 1:59.3 in the ninth race. After a second place finish in the 11th, Dobson then won the final two races on the card. He won the 12th with Sherif Cunmulaj’s Honor The Cash in 2:04.3 and then copped the 13th with a come from behind charge in 2:02 with Al Annunziata’s Fox Valley Michael.
