Overwhelming Share was a 1:58.2 winner on Sunday for Jordan Derue.

The 20-year-old Derue has made a significant impact in this his second season on the track. Derue sent three members of his stable out on Sunday afternoon and nearly swept the day.

Overwhelming Share, whom Derue owns and trains, recorded his third consecutive victory on Sunday, making a strong move from the back of the pack before stopping the timer in 1:58.2.

Hoosier Smirk, another Derue trainee, did her best from off the pace on Sunday as the claiming pacer was last at the three-quarters before coming on in the stretch. The 1:58.3 victory for Hoosier Smirk (Armbro Mackintosh) completed the training double for Derue on the afternoon.

His Bettor’s Ballerina came up second best on Sunday in what would have given the Derue Stable a clean sweep on the beautiful afternoon in Saratoga.

Derue is in the top ten in the driver standings and the top 20 in the trainer standings in his first full year of racing.

Live racing resumes on Friday night at Saratoga with a first post time set for 7:05 p.m.

Harrah’s Chester
Poised to pounce from the pocket, the Burke Racing Stable, JJK Stables, and Weaver Bruscemi’s Lucky Bettor ($5.40) rallied up the open stretch to claim back-to-back wins against top company at Harrah’s Chester, prevailing in a $28,000 Winners Over Pace in 1:51.
Yannick Gingras achieved the early lead with the 6-year-old Bettor’s Delight gelding, yielding to Presidential Order (George Napolitano, Jr.) past a :26.3 first quarter. From there, Lucky Bettor tracked a dueling Presidential Order and the first-over Blueridge Western (Tim Tetrick) before making his move up the inside. Once moved to the open stretch, the response was instant, kicking on by a half-length at the winning post. Presidential Order held second from Blueridge Western, while Clear Vision (David Miller) hooked to the grandstand side to muster fourth. Gingras and Napolitano led all drivers on the day, each taking three races.
