Cleaning Lady continued to dominate her class with another smashing win at the Spa

After drawing outside in her first start off a class drop last month and not factoring, the Paul Zabielski-trained mare has been dominant at Saratoga, and completed a grand slam on the beautiful summer night at the Spa.

The mare’s competition was so strong on Tuesday, that despite winning three straight heading into the race and starting from post three, she was the public’s third choice. Frank Coppola, Jr. was in the sulky again behind Cleaning Lady, and they pounced heading towards the three-quarters, and surged past her rivals before drawing away to record a 3-3/4 length win. Her final quarter of :28.4 was the fastest final panel of the night on Tuesday. Cleaning Lady returned $6.60 in her 1:58.1 victory.

Live racing will continue on Wednesday night with New York Sire Stakes featured, with 3-year-old trotting fillies taking center stage. Post time on Wednesday will be at 7:20 p.m., eastern

”Zeke” Parker remains on a roll; wins four more, including both pacing features

Monticello, NY — At age 55, Billy “Zeke” Parker hasn’t lost a step. He continues to drive like days of yesteryear and scores multiple victories on each racing program here at Monticello Raceway.

On Tuesday, Aug. 25, Zeke added four more to his total, and currently with 232 for the meeting, he keeps running away from his nearest rival, Kyle DiBenedetto, who trails the bearded wonder by 80 victories.

Blueridge D’Bang gave Bill Parker, Jr. one of his four wins on Tuesday

Parker won the weekly feature with Blueridge D’Bang, in time of 1:55.2, and scored an identical 1:55.2 triumph with Bilmar Rustler in the co-featured pace. And his other two victories, with Cloudy Heights N (1:56.4) and Katrina Maree N (1:58) were both sub-two minute victories, which having four on one card would have been a very notable accomplishment a few years ago — before the hub rails came down and the equipment improved — but not so anymore since speed on the racetrack is commonplace nowadays.

Another thing that day which is far from unique — but not a normal occurrence here at the Mighty M — was an owner and her trainer winning three races on the card.

Trainer Lisa Krom harnessed three winners, all of which are owned by Elisha Lafreniere. Cloudy Heights N and Bilmar Rustler were both driven by Parker and the other Krom-Lafreniere victor, Summer Vacation, was one of Jimmy Marohn’s two winners on the card.
